The W&OD is a 45-mile paved route between Purcellville and Shirlington. You do not need to tackle the full trail: begin at the Purcellville end and choose an out-and-back distance that fits your day.
Before you go
NOVA Parks lists a Purcellville West parking area off Hatcher Street. Its Loudoun Valley High School parking option is limited to weekends during the school year. Review current trail alerts before setting out, share the path considerately and finish cycling before wine or beer tasting.
